Yes, it’s OK. Radio 6 is OK. It’s OK to like average music for indie popping idiots who aren’t adventurous enough to find something good to listen to. Let’s listen to Radio 6. No, let’s all listen to Radio 6 and Radio 1 and pay for Chris Moyles to have a job.
But let’s drop BBC Asian Network.

Oh yeah, obviously. We don’t want a national Asian radio station. The Asians have already got Sunrise and Sangam – stuff this channel and its staff.
Funny thing is – my single was played on both these stations and I think they both offer the country something. And yet, the BBC – in all its glorious, cuckolded wisdom – has decided that one of them has to be axed. The one with the pink logo; the one for the pakis; the one that’s at the London Mela every year. Yeah, the festival with all the smelly pakis.
“The BBC informs, educates and entertains – wherever you are, whatever your age.” But that doesn’t extend to your cultural background; your cultural needs. The largest broadcasting corporation in the world says that this Asian channel is not a priority and that sends out a grand message. Thank you, BBC. Is your shirt tight enough? Does it need more starch? Should I get you some more lemonade while you sit in your pyjamas on the veranda watching the cricket listening to Pandit Ravi Shankar? Memsahib? Hello?
The BBC: representing the UK, its nations, regions and communities by pandering to white, middle-aged men that hanker for the good old days.
